Winter storm warning issued for Vail

VAIL — Forecasters are calling for 1-2 feet of snow to fall in Vail through Tuesday.

Snow will develop late Saturday night and continue through Tuesday morning, said Joel Gratz of opensnow.com.

“Total snow accumulations between Sunday morning and Tuesday morning should be 1-2 feet with perhaps more,” Gratz said Saturday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the Vail area, calling for 10-20 inches. The heaviest snow is expected to fall from late Sunday afternoon through Monday morning.

Travelers should be prepared for icy and snow-packed roads and poor visibility.
