Wisconsin rock band Clovis Mann plays free show in Edwards tonight
Vail, CO, Colorado
Madison, Wis., band Clovis Mann brings its blues-laced rock show to Edwards tonight for a St. Patrick’s Day party.
The band continues to promote its latest release, “Metamorphic.” This will be the band’s final stop on a nine-city Western tour, which included shows in Boulder, Fort Collins, Nederland, Denver and more.
Highly influenced by the blues, this power trio consists of chief songwriter Dan Walkner on guitar and vocals, Dan Plourde on the bass and vocals and James Zander on the drum kit. Heavy, driving rhythms lay a solid foundation for Walkner to build focused melody lines into soaring solos.
Clovis Mann’s original compositions are songs of struggle and redemption, life and love; Walkner’s lyrics are honest and heartfelt while maintaining a gritty, blue-collar feel. The set is high-energy and highly danceable, drawing from bluegrass and country roots as well as rock ‘n’ roll.
“Metamorphic,” the band’s third full-length studio effort, won the “Blues Album of the Year” award at the Madison Area Music Awards show in June 2011. The band toured heavily last year, with two tours in Colorado and Wyoming on top of its regular touring schedule around the Midwest.
