Wisdom: Epic Pass bad for Vail
Vail CO, Colorado
Re: “Eagle ready for new leadership”
This is a big test for Eagle. Can we say no to big development and possibly bigger tax revenue that may come with it to preserve the Town of Eagle?
No Vail Valley
Re: “Carnes right on ‘Vail’ airport name”
Again, there is no “Vail Valley.” If Vail Resorts or the town want to name the airport let them pay a naming fee like at other civic properties e.g. Coors Field, Invesco Field at Mile High, The Pepsi Center, etc. Then we might recoup some of the wasted money our commisioners felt (was) so important to spend on this frivolous matter.
A dangerous solution
Re: “Slow-driving troopers hope to save lives on Vail Pass”
This is the dumbest thing ever. It is way more dangerous to be driving in the middle lane at 35 mph while the limit is posted at 65 mph. Having to have everyone behind ride their brakes on an icy road to avoid piling up on top of the trooper is a recipe for disaster. The problem is the lack of driver skills and inadequate equipment for the winter conditions. If they want people to slow down just install the LED signs for the speed limits, which can be changed according to the weather conditions.
Bad move for Vail
Re: “Vail’s Epic pass may be just the ticket”
Vail lowered their pass prices so much that people can plan to ski there every weekend. It is a totally different game when you are saving your 10 days vs. having an unlimited pass to Vail. All rationalizations aside this is going to make Vail even more crowded, 30-minute lift lines are a thing of the past on any weekend and the crowds will quickly spill over to Beaver Creek. This makes me happy that I moved to Steamboat and now any trips down to Vail to see friends will definitely be on weekdays.
