Just read the Answerland about U.S. mail home delivery. The mayor just told me in person last week that he could do nothing about it, it was all the USPS doing. What gives, Mayor Wolfe?Re: LettersToo much power? “Democrats performed their elected role with honor.” Ted Kennedy, honorable? Who is Harvie Branscomb trying to kid? Maybe Harvie’s too young (or senile) to remember Mary Jo Kopechne, the young campaign worker drowned by that drunken souse in 1969. Democrats have but one single deciding factor for a judge: abortion. Alito has already established that he values legal precedents, such as Roe v. Wade, but the Dems are still whining. It is their way. If anyone out there honestly believes the Dems would not react exactly same way toward ANYONE nominated by President Bush, then they are as pickled as their poster boy, Ted Kennedy.Re: TipslineAbout oil? For the hardcore Demo-dopes out there who still argue that the war in Iraq is about oil, please consider: Now that the USA has control of the oil fields and has restarted oil production, why are our gas prices still so high? And why do you continue to argue a senseless point that was long ago defeated? Perhaps its because Democrats never learn. Perhaps they are blinded by their visceral hatred of Bush. Or maybe they’re still angry about losing the 2000 and 2004 elections. Whatever the reasons, however well intentioned their misguided objectives, their words and deeds divide our nation and undermine the safety, security and well being of us all.Re: LettersMr. Branscomb is typical of flaming liberals, completely ignorant of history, the Constitution, and what the United States of America is (depending on what your definition of is is).Mr. Branscomb says, “The USA has too powerful a military and countless police forces, but proves relatively helpless as a provider of domestic assistance.” Excuse me, but the U.S. military is not supposed to be “a provider of domestic assistance.” That’s just another flaming liberal notion of government as nanny to the masses. As for the USA having “countless police forces,” well, maybe Mr. Branscomb isn’t very good at math or civics. Never mind that this mental giant is the co-chair of the Eagle County Democrats. The federal government of the USA does not control the police forces of all the nation’s states, counties and municipalities, nor would anyone want it to.Re: EcosabateursHow about some in depth reporting? How about maybe five minutes of research about the background of these people. The press makes them appear to be just kids concerned about the environment, but in reality they are Maoists and anarchists bent on bringing down our way of life. Just Google these names and start reading.Re: Steammaster golfs for employeesHey Gary, I just wanted to say thank you for all that you have done for my family in this dark moment. You have been a silver lining around a dark cloud, and for that I am so thankful that my mom was a friend. We never could have done this with out you. Thanks again.Megan MatthewsRe: LettersRoger Brown has done exactly what he dislikes. When he got to Vail, first thing he did was buy some pristine land in Gypsum, build a monument to his ego, and so cutely call it the Hole In The Sky Ranch. Kind of shows his true nature?Re: TipslineA recent Tipsline post suggests that everyone should just ignore the Holocaust and asks, “Why don’t people let the Holocaust heal?” The answers are manifold, but here are two: 1. Because too many people deny it happened. 2. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.Vail, Colorado
