On the Vail Daily Web site, you can comment on each story or editorial you read there. Here, we publish excerpts of those comments:Re: Voters turn out in forceMaybe I am wrong, but it seems no other current major development in Vail/Lionshead has fought this hard to become an asset to our community. Why make the proposed building in Vail Village (that backs to the highway and the Frontage Road) into the “worst” thing that could happen to it? I have not seen any outrage over the monstrosities that are being built by others in Lionshead that will block most of the view for all businesses and most present condos? … Congratulations with the outcome of the election Peter Knobel, and great job to you and your staff.Kristina, Vail residentRe: Never mind the buildingsBefore you declare Gen. Odom as the supreme knower of all things, allow me to correct some of his typical liberal propoganda to hate America. There are no vital U.S. interests? How about the great soldiers that are over protecting our freedom which people like Odom take for granted? Furthermore, how about the lives of the Iraqi people which we are saving? Sure there are casualties of war, but at least the tyrannical dictator Saddam Hussein isn’t GENOCIDING his people like he tried to do in the early ’90s! And how is women (the majority of people for that matter) voting in a democratic election “the worst kind of democracy”? The people’s voices are being hard in government. Isn’t that what democracy is? You said, “… provide a training ground for terrorists.” Is this not a contradiction from the very beginning of the war when liberals said that Iraq does NOT harbor terrorists? Terrorists, surprisingly, are not stupid. Do you honestly think they would come in to a dangerous country from their point of view to train in the mouth of the beast that is the U.S. army’s doorstep and train when they can more easily train in places like Pakistan where Usama Bin Laden is and other countries? “Squandered a world’s goodwill”? If you’re trying to say that the world isn’t better off with Saddam gone and 1,600 terrorists killed or captured, I’m sorry, sir, but you’re just plain wrong. You’re being discipled by this fool Odom which seems to be a huge mistake. Learn the facts Don Rogers, not liberal propoganda.Re: Old Guard made today possibleThe Pepi’s addition really does not impose on anybody or any view. It’s nothing compared to the impact Crossroads will have both from the North and the South. You won’t have any views.Re: Solaris wins in landslideOut with the old and in with the new. The “old guard” just had their heads handed to them. … Get a clue people, we are tired of your old ways. Don’t make any more excuses. Please admit when you’re wrong. Mr. “I’m against everything Wiessner” should also learn something from this vote. Mr. Ginn will get his approvals, as well.Re: Solaris wins in landslideWell, it looks like Vail’s Old Guard should have used more Right Guard, as their anti-development plan obviously stinks. Now it looks like the Old Guard has moved on to en guarde with the alleged lawsuit pending against them. Re: Watchdogs slam Vail Pass wildlife bridgeWe’ve all heard of natural selection. Well, the loss of wildlfe or human life on a highway I refer to as mechanical selection. Mechanical selection weeds out dumb animals who haven’t figured out that highways are dangerous. …Vail, Colorado
