Wisdom: Recall Eagle Co. school district bond
Vail CO, Colorado
Re: Eagle County Charter Academy, turf field both receive funds
Since it was clear when the enormous school levy passed a few years ago that voters did not support funding the charter school, I propose a “re-vote” on the levy, much like Menconi and Runyon do every time the results of elections don’t go their way.
Furthermore, the previous school levy passed with the proviso that TAP be implemented to hold teachers accountable for performance, and now that has been tossed aside to mollify the teachers. Sounds like our school leaders are taking a page from the Eagle County Commissioners’ playbook. Game on!
Re: “Vail Valley: Two ‘alpine’ rides stalled on tracks”
“The alpine coaster will appeal to a broader, youthful population and get more kids ‘in the woods,'” the group wrote.”
If the goal is to “get more kids in the woods” then Vail Resorts would accomplish so much more ” and be true to Mr. Katz’s recent Forest Service Foundation award ” by supporting the Gore Range Natural Science School’s educational programs for kids. We are two years down the line from the beginning of this “discussion” and everyone can see how horrible the forests are beginning to look as a result of the bark beetle infestation. This summer we won’t see rust-colored trees, just skeletons. Imagine how lovely an alpine slide or coaster (particularly in mud season) will look. Not.
