Wisdom: Whose fault is Sept. 11?

Blame Clinton

(Refer to the letter to the editor “Bad timing”)

Bush had to clean up our nation and the Oval Office after Clinton ravaged our intelligence organizations and women. Clinton was too busy with interns to take out Osama bin Ladin when he had the chance. If Clinton had been paying attention to the right job, Sept. 11 might have never happened.

Can we drop the blaming Bill Clinton for Sept. 11? It sounds more ludicrous the more it gets repeated. It happened under George W. Bush and he never caught the guy who did it! Sept. 11 was the best thing that ever happened to W., he would be absolutely and thoroughly discredited if it had never happened. Iraq was a mistake, democracy is not on its way there, it’s time to own up to it if you hope to have any chance in ’08 with Fred, or Mitt, or “Third times a charm” Rudy. He seemed like a nice guy at first but he has proved utterly incompetent, be it Walter Reed, Katrina or the war. Sorry!

Won’t get my vote again

(Refer to the Daily editorial “In your pocket for the full 40”)

I voted for both Peter and Sara and have known them both personally for many years. I can assure you that neither will get my vote if they choose to retain the full property tax windfall. This is unrestrained greed, and I am disgusted with their continued disrespect for the citizens of Eagle County who have a difficult enough time making ends meet.

Although I’m no fan of the “Broomfield Boys,” I can’t see how they were “dishonest” regarding the Vail opening? Would it have made a difference in your decision to purchase a merchant pass (if in fact that’s your issue)? I believe the Vail Resorts guys here are amazing and were trying their best to get Vail open on time.
