VAIL, Colorado ” Zev and Gadi (Wolf and Lamb, respectively) have been involved in the electronic-dance-music scene since they met five years ago. Together they have produced and DJ’d some memorable events in New York in the past decade and have had a presence at Burning Man every year. In addition, they run a label with the same name that has been receiving an increasing amount of attention, with tracks being played by DJs such as Richie Hawtin and Ricardo Villalobos worldwide. In advance of their show at Samana Lounge tonight, they answered a few questions from the Vail Daily.

Vail Daily: How and when did you get your start in the industry?

Wolf and Lamb: We started by doing small events in New York, eventually opening New York’s premier underground after-hours venue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Opening our label started as an outlet for our production.

VD: Why should people come see your show?

WL: It’s an opportunity to experience an emerging global electronic dance movement from the perspective of two New York-based producers.

VD: How do you differ from the other DJs out there? What kind of music do you play?

WL: Hard to describe ” we tell people to come listen and classify it for themselves.

VD: What has been your major impact on electronic music and/or how do you plan on impacting the future of electronic music?

WL: Coming up on our two-year anniversary, we’ve been able to leverage our speed to publish releases that are a direct response to what kind of music is being made. Not having the lag present in vinyl has allowed us to act as running commentary, something we’ve never seen before.
