Woman, 43, admits to taking clothing from Vail Valley store

Eagle Valley Enterprise
Vail, CO Colorado

EDWARDS, Colorado – The manager of Ptarmigan Sports in Edwards reported a theft to police April 5 and told them he had a suspect in mind.

Video footage showed a 43-year-old woman taking many articles of clothing into a dressing room. She bought several and left.

Afterwards, an employee found price tags for clothes that were not paid for in the dressing room – a Pirana skort worth $48 and Lole shorts worth $62.

Officers were able to contact the suspect from a telephone number she’d given to the store. She admitted to stealing and returned the merchandise to police, who met her at the hotel where she was staying.

She said she did not know why she’d taken the items but had learned her lesson and was sorry. She was given a summons for theft.
