A woman who fell off an overpass in Silt on Saturday is being treated for injuries in Grand Junction after falling nearly two stories onto Interstate 70. Her condition is listed as guarded, according to the Silt Police Department.

Officers were made aware of the woman after receiving a call from dispatch at around 3:55 p.m. on Saturday. A welfare check was requested on a female who had been walking back and forth on the overpass. Shortly thereafter they received a call that the woman had landed on I-70. She was transported by life flight to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction.

Silt Police Department officers would not say whether the incident was considered to be accidental or on purpose, as it is an open investigation. There is no indication that any other party was involved.
