Woman tells police she shot husband in the arm
EAGLE, Colorado – An Eagle woman was arrested Saturday night after her common law husband was shot in the arm, police said.
Anthony Sincebaugh, 40, of Eagle, suffered non-life-threatening injuries from the attack, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday in a statement.
Erin Stephens, aka Kim Stephens, 54, was arrested at 111 Violet Lane in Eagle after calling police to admit shooting Sincebaugh in the arm, the statement said.
Sincebaugh is being treated at a local hospital, Sheriff’s Office officials said.
Stephens was charged with reckless endangerment, first-degree assault, prohibited use of a weapon while intoxicated and domestic violence.
Stephens was apparently drinking when the incident occurred, said Shannon Cordingly, spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office.
Stephens’ motive for the attack is still unclear, Cordingly said.
“At this point we are still investigating,” she said. “All we’re saying is it’s a domestic issue … we’ve still got a lot of investigating to do.”
Eagle County District Attorney Mark Hulbert will review the case and also may charge Stephens with attempted murder, Cordingly said.
Stephens is being held without bond at the Eagle County jail.
The Sheriff’s Office said the incident is still under investigation.
