The co-authors of “Women of Vail: Those Who Walked This Bridge 1962-1970,” Elaine Kelton and Carolyn Pope, will be at the Vail Public Library for a book talk and signing at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 10. The library is located at 292 W. Meadow Dr., and the event will take place in the library’s newly renovated community room.

Vail was developed by a group of adventurers, both men and women. Until 1970, it was a small, geographically isolated village, an idea becoming a reality, soon to define itself in the ski world. These adventurers all lived in the same place, but each has a different story.

Several books have been written about Vail’s history, but the women’s story had not yet been told.
