VAIL — Chrysalis Circle, a summer program that aims to empower young women, and Heart2Heart, a mother-daughter weekend that aims to transform relationships, will take place this summer.
Chrysalis Circle is a six-day nature adventure program from Women’s Empowerment Workshop that guides sixth- through 12th-graders on a journey to connect to who they are, find their authentic voice and gain confidence and resilience, all in the context of outdoor adventure and exploration. A river trip, rock climbing, hiking, dancing with the earth, journaling, communication, emotional skills, team and leadership skills and an overnight are a few of the activities designed to give girls confidence as they step into womanhood.
Girls meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 13, through Saturday, June 18, with one overnight on Friday, June 17. Each day integrates activities in nature, leadership and communication skills and time for introspection. The learning grows through two additional Chrysalis gatherings offered in August and September.
Led by Susie Kincade, Women’s Empowerment Workshop founder and certified nature-based coach; Allie Caw, expressive movement expert; and professional outfitters Timberline Tours and Adventure Travel Guides International, Chrysalis Circle is based in Eagle. The cost is $395 before Wednesday and $450 thereafter. Family discounts are available.
“Chrysalis helped me be more aware of who I am and what I want to be as a person,” one participant said. Another said, “Chrysalis has made me more in touch with myself and everyone around me.” Yet another stated, “Chrysalis Circle taught me to believe in myself and know that I am my own leader and have my own power.”
Created by Kincade, mother of four daughters, Chrysalis has been empowering young women since 2009. This year, there is a special bonus for all Chrysalis participants past and present. They can share and deepen their Chrysalis skills with their Mom in the Heart2Heart mother-daughter retreat, Friday, June 24, through Sunday, June 26, and receive half off their fee.
Heart2Heart is a three-day adventure retreat where mothers and daughters bond, heal, laugh and play together as they build trust and communication skills. Price is $395 through Wednesday, June 1, and then $450 per person.
Women’s Empowerment Workshop also offers custom retreats for families, rites of passage for people of all ages and personal, nature-based coaching. Learn more and register at http://www.womenempower.us or by calling 970-328-5472.
