Work resumes on Vail Pass today

Vail Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL –The Colorado Department of Transportation resumes work today on an Interstate 70 improvement project between Vail and Frisco.

Remaining work consists of concrete sealing, in-lay striping and minor bridge improvements, all of which are temperature-sensitive and could not be completed before the project was suspended due to adverse weather in November. Rotomilling, asphalt paving and extensive rehabilitation work on 16 bridges occurred last summer between East Vail and Silverthorne Hill.

Single-lane closures are possible at various locations on eastbound and/or westbound I-70, between East Vail and Frisco, Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Fridays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The speed limit will drop to 45 mph during work hours.

Only minor delays are anticipated. All work is scheduled to be completed in July.
