Work to start on Eagle-Vail commercial area plan

EAGLE-VAIL, Colorado – The Eagle County Community Development Department and the Eagle-Vail Metropolitan District are ready to start work on the Eagle-Vail Commercial Area Master Plan.

The project’s intent is to establish long-term design and regulatory goals and objectives to direct and coordinate future redevelopment and growth in the commercial area, which dates to the early 1970s. An update about the project status will be given to the Eagle-Vail Metropolitan District Board of Directors at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 18. Other updates are planned for the town of Avon Feb. 23 and the town of Vail March 2.

Mauriello Planning Group of Avon, is leading a team including OZ Architecture, Economic Planning Systems and Kimley-Horn to help with the master plan project.

During March and April, county staff will gather detailed information on existing conditions in the area, establish a steering committee and begin contacting property owners and other interested parties. For more information, call Scott Hunn, 970-328-8624.
