Worlds connect at Vail Valley libraries

Daily staff report
Vail CO, Colorado

AVON, Colorado ” It’s National Library Week, a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers in schools, campuses and communities nationwide ” and the perfect time to discover how worlds connect at your library.

The community is invited to stop by the Gypsum Public Library today, or the Avon or Eagle Public Library Tuesday for information on what the libraries offer in services and programs. The libraries will provide cookies and refreshments as a thank you to the community for their patronage and support. The Avon Public Library will also kick off their spring book sale on Tuesday.

“Every day, all types of libraries in cities big and small help to transform their communities,” said Cortni O’Brien, a librarian with the Eagle Valley Library District. “People come together at our libraries for community meetings, library programs, to do research, find a job, get help with homework, find books and movies, and much more.”

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
