Yoga teacher returns to Vail

VAIL ” A former area yoga teacher will return to the Vail Valley to teach a workshop this Wednesday at the Avon Recreation Center.

Geri Bleier lived and worked in the Vail Valley from 2000 to 2004. She taught at The Vail Athletic Club, The Om Zone, and the Bachelor Gulch club. Bleier has been an avid student of yoga since 1994, and has studied Anusara yoga since its conception in 1997.

Bleier has studied closely with John Friend, Mitchel Bleier, and Sianna Sherman, as well as Jamie Allison, Richard Freeman, and Pattabhi Jois. Her passion for yoga shows through her practice and her personality. She strives to bring clarity in her teaching and pure joy in her heart.

Bleier works with beginning students to advanced students, including professional athletes and therapeutic clients.

Monica Gully, a student and Anusara teacher describes Bleier as an exciting, energetic instructor who tells “great life stories.”

“She relates to her students, and her teachings are very tangible,” Gully said.

The class will take place Wednesday at The Avon Recreation Center from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This class for all levels combines a two-hour asana practice with mediation and philosophy. Cost is $40. Please e-mail to register.
