LYONS With live music from more than 20 artists, yoga from more than 25 instructors and riverside camping under the stars, YogaRocks could be the yoga communitys highlight of the summer. YogaRocks takes place at the 17-acre festival grounds of Planet Bluegrass in Lyons on Aug. 23 and 24. Festival Passes are on sale at http://www.yogarocks.info. Tickets start at $125 per day or $225 for a full-weekend pass (includes camping) and $40 per day for the Camp Yoga Rocks program. In addition to music and yoga instruction, YogaRocks will feature Camp Yoga Rocks, a childrens program for kids ages 3 to 10 years old, as well as organic food, an environmentally friendly message, one-of-a-kind artwork, sustainable lifestyle vendors, a wellness and massage area, fire twirling, a 125-person drum circle and a film tent. A benefit festival for Yoga World-reach, the net proceeds from this summers festival go directly to assisting underserved populations throughout the world. YogaRocks presenters volunteer all or most of their time creating a sense of Seva, a Sanskrit word meaning selfless service, which is the cornerstone of Yoga Worldreach. Presenters include Simon Park, a teacher of Vinyasa Flow and Thai massage; Sree Bringi, a Yoga philosophy instructor from Naropa University; and certified Anusara instructor Jeanie Manchester, who has studied yoga for 20 years with teachers Richard Freeman, John Friend and Douglas Brooks. Also on the lineup is certified Anusara instructor Darren Rhodes. YogaRocks also includes fire-twirling each evening with Bioluminance and AcroYoga demonstrations and classes with Vails Rachel Nelson. There will also be a class in the blissipline with Shakti including live percussion from local drum masters and nada yoga with Alanna Kaivalya, which combines music and yoga to awaken attendees true inner potential. Nationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Donna De Lory, the genre-busting D.V.S. & Chantel Mead, the soulful Girish and Boulders own seven-member African ensemble Zivanai Masango will all perform at the festival. Recently added to this list is Shanti Groove.
