VAIL VALLEY, Colorado –Overflowing Guinness drafts in the Vail Valley. Emerald green “Kiss Me I’m Irish” shirts. Heaping plates of corned beef and cabbage. St. Patrick’s Day is the one day out of the year when everyone is Irish, regardless of if your last name is O’Neil or Ortiz.

And no matter how you’d prefer to celebrate, one thing is for sure: there are plenty of local bars and restaurants that take this holiday seriously and have plenty of fun planned.

To celebrate, Garfinkel’s will be pouring car bombs on St. Patty’s day.

Traditional Irish fare, including corned beef and cabbage for $8.95. Phil Long will perform from 4 to 6 p.m. and again from 9 to 11 p.m.

Shakedown Street is performing Wednesday and Thursday nights at Samana Lounge. Doors open at 8 p.m. and an acoustic set will start at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door. Call 970-476-3433 for more information.

Drink specials including $4 Guinness, $4 Jameson and $5 car bombs. Food specials included corned beef and cabbage and rubens. White Trash Wednesday will take place as usual with DJ Weez and DJ Carve.

Various bars, restaurants and businesses will be offering St. Patrick’s day themed fun, including food and drink specials, extended hours and raffle prizes.

Paddy’s annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration starts at noon Wednesday and goes until 10 p.m. The restaurant is asking patrons to dress in their Irish best. There will be Irish music all day, corned beef and cabbage and Irish lamb stew as well as green beer, Guinness, car bombs and more.

Along with food and drikn specials, Finnegan’s will host three bands Wednesday. Jonny Mogambo will kick things off with a set from 3 to 6 p.m. Next up White Water Ramble will perform their style of jam-grass from 6 to 9 p.m. Denver cover band Money Shot will perform from 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Tickets are $5 after 3 p.m.

Loaded Joe’s is hosting its annual Who’s Your Paddy bash from 3 p.m. to midnight. Live entertainment by Zach Tierney and special guests, DJ Ester, DJ Raki and the acoustic premiere of Danny and Austin. Drink specials include $5 car bombs and $4 Denver doubles.

The Boot will be serving corned beef and cabbage all day long, as well as green beers, Guinness and shots of Jameson.

Representatives from Coors Light will be at E-Town for St. Patrick’s Day. They’ll give away free green beer from 4 p.m. until it runs out. They will also give away snowboards, jackets, a toboggan and more.
