Suzanne Schirra/Special to the Daily'Frank' by Suzanne Schirra

VAIL, Colorado “-Vail Village Arts, in conjunction with The Connoisseur’s Trail, is happy to announce the upcoming art auction in Vail, Colorado of original works by local artist Suzanne Schirra, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to benefit the Eagle Valley Humane Society.

Schirra donated two original pieces, along with one original commission, highlighting her extraordinary passion for pets and artwork! Named the official artist of the National Dog Show in 2003, Schirra’s work is in private homes and collections across the globe. Her unmistakable bright colors, photo-realism and uncanny ability to capture the animals’ personalities, have warmed the homes of pet owners for more than 15 years.

Schirra is happy to be able to give back to the community she has come to love so much, and the Eagle Valley Humane Society is the perfect recipient of her generosity. She has selected two acrylic on canvas works for the auction, an Australian Sheppard named “Sheila” and a cat named “Frank.”

The highlight of the event will be the auction of one commissioned work. Schirra is able to use a pet owner’s favorite photo, and through a process of sketching to painting, brings any photo to life. A favorite photo could become a piece of contemporary fine art.
