Youth Exchange needs families

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” This year, the Vail Rotary Club is hosting Javier Riveros, an exchange student from La Semana, Chile. He is a senior at Battle Mountain High School and loves tennis, soccer, music and literature.

Javier, along with thousands of other teens, will see the world through the Rotary Youth Exchange program. Students in the Rotary Youth Exchange spend an entire school year living with families in foreign countries.

The club is always looking for families to host students for two to three months. Host families don’t need to have children living at home, nor do they need to be Rotarians.

Support from the club is provided through a Rotarian who serves as the student’s counselor, and backup is available for host parents who need to be away from home from time to time. A monthly allowance is provided to assist with the student’s expenses.
