Youth Foundation’s Turkey Trot

Don’t be a turkey! Volunteer at the Youth Foundation’s annual Turkey Trot. This fun run has become a must-do for many Vail Valley guests and residents alike. Last year, Elle magazine recognized this race as one of the most fun runs around.

In 2012, almost 900 participants ran in support of the Youth Foundation’s programs. Costumes, kids, dogs and walkers are all welcome, and even encouraged. We need volunteers to help with parking, registration, hanging posters and fliers, timing, food and bartending, cleanup and other tasks.

The race starts Thanksgiving morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Eagle-Vail pool and meanders through Eagle-Vail. Volunteers arrive between 7:45 and 8 a.m. All funds raised support Youth Foundation programs, with a portion going to the Eric Spry Memorial Scholarship.

Can’t volunteer on Thanksgiving morning? We need help hanging posters, putting out fliers and making calls as well. Or you can volunteer and run too! Contact Heather at or 970-748-5989 for more information.
