Zeeb: Every day is a new day

If my thoughts of yesterday created my today and my thoughts of today create my tomorrow, then what am I thinking right at this moment?

When I wake in the morning, I thank divine that I woke ” period. Before I go to sleep at night, I thank divine for my day no matter how good or bad it was. I do this because I know that each day is an opportunity to do it better. Even my best days can be better because I view each moment as a miracle. If we open ourselves up to the creation of each moment, they are miracles and more miracles will appear the more aware we are.

Begin from where you are right now, today, in this moment. No matter what we have done in our past, it does not define us. Our past is our experience, but not the truth of who we are. We can, at any moment, start again. In metaphysics, starting again or being born again (not to be confused with Christian terminology), is any moment you remember you can start again and any moment you decide to “come home” to the spirit within you. Starting again or coming home is a new beginning no matter what you have done in your past.

Forget about the end result. Every time you come to the end of one journey, a new one begins. We believe our past defines us because no one ever told us it didn’t. It is not our past that defines us, but our present. It is the moment and the energy of the moment that defines who we are.

Think of anger. It can happen in a split second and it can last a long time or dissipate quickly. If we are aware that it is rising within us and choose a different way to deal with a situation, we become present in that moment of recognition.

We are concerned that if we act or react differently than we always have, we won’t know who we are. You don’t truly change. You will not suddenly become “the enlightened one.” You will still be the same person, but you will not want to live the same way. You may not do the same things you had been doing. You begin to speak from your heart, instead of your head. You treat others with respect, even if you think they don’t deserve it. You stop what you’re doing to help someone, rather than taking care of trivial things. You make clearer choices about what’s important.

So, if my present thoughts create my world, then I want to be paying attention. If I am angry all day, the world around me will be angry ” what else could it be? Once you gain a new perspective, the world will no longer seem so angry. You can, at any moment, decide how you feel and how you choose to act or react. If you want tomorrow to be better than today, then take a look at the thoughts you are having right now.

We have to create our world. Don’t you want to be the one to create it instead of someone else? Create your moment; change any negative thoughts to positive, loving, compassionate thoughts and see if your tomorrow is better. Blessings!
