Actively Green 2015 ambassador profile: Greg Ziccardi

Daily staff report

Editor’s note: This is a weekly spotlight that celebrates a local person who works for an Actively Green 2015 participating sustainable business.

Name: Greg Ziccardi.

Job: Sustainability coordinator, Antlers at Vail.

How has Actively Green 2015 impacted you? I am more aware of environmental issues that challenge our community.

My favorite green practice at home is: Turning off the water when I brush my teeth.

The best part of being involved with Actively Green 2015 is: That tracking our waste, water and energy consumption has begun to show a positive impact on business operations.

My Actively Green tip for other businesses would be: Get on board — this project is real and has substance.

My big hairy vision for an environmentally sustainable Vail Valley includes: A movement to remove those ugly, detrimental plastic bags from our grocery stores.

Last thoughts? When the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships arrive in 2015, our business community will be demonstrating its unity to preserve the beauty and environment of our valley.

The Actively Green 2015 Sustainable Business Certification program is a community-driven partnership supported by the town of Vail, Vail Valley Foundation, Sustainable Travel International and Walking Mountains Science Center. To get involved go to:
