Letter: Attack the opinion, not the writer

To Corkie Ramey, you say Richard Carnes crossed the line. Instead of attacking the writer with verbal barbs of his education and credentials and your moral outrage, attack the substance of his opinion. It’s an opinion, and everyone has one. I know you disagree with him — that’s your opinion. State your reasons why other than that you disagree with his opinion.
