Letter: Casey Glowacki doesn’t get it
In his recent letter to the editor regarding why he’s running for Eagle Town Council, Casey Glowacki says:
“What Eagle needs are leaders with a ‘yes’ mindset — people who believe in smart, responsible growth. Developments like Haymeadow are a great start, but we can do more. When Eagle reaches 10,000 residents, we’ll see more doors opening on Capitol Street, more businesses on Broadway, and more entrepreneurs choosing Eagle as a place to invest their dreams.”
Just to be clear, unincorporated Edwards has a population of approximately 11,000 residents. Not surprisingly, Glowacki also owns a couple of businesses in Edwards. Coincidence, I think not.
Furthermore, Glowacki (who has only lived in Eagle for less than four years), stated, “My goal is simple: to help build an Eagle that my 19- and 20-year-old sons — and their generation — will want to return to, build their lives in, and raise families of their own.”
Many of us chose Eagle for its small-town character and livability. It’s difficult to see how growing the population by 38% would preserve — let alone enhance — the quality of life that makes people want to live here in the first place.
