Letter: Reject Berlaimont

Our valley has been rapidly changing due to the popularity of our beautiful state of Colorado and Eagle County. With this growth there is a demand for more development. Developments get pushed through in spite of public protests and changing of rules. This is reason to object to the Berlaimont Estates Development.

It is important to object to the paving of the road through public land for access to the project. The road will be built through a major corridor for animal wildlife migration and birthing. This is an area that has always been of importance for wildlife habitat. The USFS has studied the threat to the wildlife in this area. The USFS has the responsibility to protect our public lands. Therefore, they should not allow the road to be paved.

Another objection for this project is the concern for the needs of safety with fire mitigation, emergency vehicles response, water supply and construction for utilities cause other issues that will highly impact this area that should be kept as Forest Service Land to protect our wildlife.

There will be more development in Eagle County, but it does not need to be done in a critical wildlife area. Stand up and object to this proposal to build a road.
