Vail Daily letter: A great production

On behalf of the board of directors for Porchlight Players Community Theater Co., and the cast and crew of “Young Frankenstein,” which played in Eagle the last two weekends, we extend a great big thank you to the wonderful audiences that attended this year’s dinner theater production! Now in its fifth year, our Valentine’s Day dinner theater has become a staple of downvalley entertainment options and is always well-supported by our many attendees. In addition to our supporters, we also extend a grateful shout-out to our local sponsors: Alpine Bank, our main sponsor for all five years; the town of Eagle; Slifer, Smith and Frampton Real Estate; The Gallegos Corporation; and Crazy Mountain Brewery. Kudos as well to Fork Art Catering of Eagle, which provided the delicious, catered dinners and desserts. Finally, I personally want to thank the many talented cast members and behind-the-scenes volunteers who make our dinner theater events possible: Kris and Shelby Keys, Nancy Lorenzi, Randy Olin, Lance and Lisa Schober, Trish Schultheis, Scott Winnegrad, Kamille McKinney, Paul Witt, Irish Boston, Jared Moore, Rodney Johnson, Zimmerman Bledsoe, Kabe ErkenBrack, Steve Szindler, Craig Poff, Rudy Olin, Chris Brown, Dacia Belisle and everyone who came to volunteer as bartenders, coat-checkers and kitchen help. We have an abundance of performing art talent as well as volunteerism in the valley, and I am thankful that you choose to share it with us!

Porchlight Players is now in its 11th year and has produced over 30 theatrical events in Eagle and Gypsum, including 22 plays and musicals, and eight Summer Children’s Theater Camps. We have also partnered with the Eagle County Historical Society on two of their cemetery tours in Red Cliff and Gypsum, participated in the One Book, One Valley reading event, and helped at Gypsum’s Haunted Maze and Gypsum Daze events. We are currently planning our upcoming productions, which will include our ninth Summer Children’s Theater Camp production of “Peter Pan Jr.,” a fall murder-mystery production of “Arsenic and Old Lace,” and next year’s dinner theater production, TBD (stay tuned!). If you are interested in becoming involved with Porchlight Players in any capacity or would like to be included on our mailing list for notification of auditions and future events, please visit our website,, for more information.
