Vail Daily letter: Credit where due
A recent Valley Voices column referred to the “Patriot Act” as being written by U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, R-Wis. As I was born and
brought up in Wisconsin, I think proper recognition was not given to Rep. Sensenbrenner’s work. The proper name of the 2001 law is the “USA PATRIOT” Act — an acronym standing for Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism.
It should also be pointed out that Rep. Sensenbrenner is probably the most outspoken House skeptic concerning global warming.
The belief goes beyond saying human activity is not responsible for climate change, but readings of thermometers showing upward temperature trends have in some cases misused the laws of statistics.
It’s important to know Rep. Sensenbrenner has been vice chair of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology.
So please give proper recognition of the work, beliefs and importance of my fellow Wisconsin comPATRIOT.
