Vail Daily letter: Don’t you get it about GMOs?
On Saturday all around the world people were uniting in the March Against Monsanto. Here in our fair valley, not a word was mentioned.
The purpose of the March was and is to get people to care about their food supply. Do you know what GMO food is? It is genetically modified food. It is altered with chemicals and bacteria, so when it grows it can resist tons of pesticides. In a single year, 2006, 96.7 million pounds of glyphosate was sprayed on soybeans alone in the U.S.
Who makes all the chemicals-pesticides and who makes all the GMO seeds? Monsanto.
Who is spending tons of money lobbying our government to pass laws to make them unaccountable? Monsanto
Who knows that these foods are harmful? Monsanto!

Don’t think we are getting special food here. The fresh corn you are buying at the farmers market is most likely GMO Monsanto corn.
Top 10 GMO foods to avoid: Corn, soy, sugar, aspartame, papayas, canola (one of the most genetically altered foods in the U.S.; there is nothing natural about it), cotton oil, dairy (27 countries have banned Monsanto’s rBGH a hormone given to cows, but not the U.S.), zucchini, yellow, squash.
So what can we do to protect ourselves and our families? Buy organic! Buy locally and ask the farmers if they are planting Monsanto seeds. Or best yet, have your own organic garden and enjoy!
