Vail Daily letter: Great event
Oh, my, did we have a fabulous time at the winter Free Family Fun Fair in Eagle on Feb. 21! Right off the bat, we want to give a huge shout-out to our community sponsors: WECMRD, town of Gypsum, Castle Peak Dental, Vail Valley Dental Assisting School, Mountain Family Health Centers, town of Eagle and Taco Bell.
If you were one of the fair-goers who enjoyed this free event, we strongly encourage you to support our sponsors. In all honesty, the annual Free Family Fun Fair would not exist without them!
Ted Tanis, with Mechanical Express, provided NASA space-themed activities and rides. The costumed characters, face painters and balloon sculptors, courtesy of Slippery Slope Productions, were a hit, as always. The friendly AirBound team set up and oversaw the big toys, including bounce houses, a four-person bungee jump, a huge inflatable obstacle course and super tall slide and crowd-pleasing Zorb balls.
Safety education is an integral part of every annual Free Family Fun Fair. Tom Wagenlander and Bill Kennedy of Eagle River Fire Protection District parked a shiny red fire truck, which the children were welcomed to climb on. Kim Greene, with Vail Valley Medical Center, provided free helmet fittings and tot-sized helmets (for a cash donation). Kim was so busy, she hardly had any helmets left over.
We’ve been producing the Free Family Fun Fair for nine years now, and it’s truly one of our favorite events! Our sponsors, participants and vendors’ helpfulness and good cheer aid our mission of producing fun and friendly events for our listeners, and our communities.
