Vail Daily letter: Loria for Avon council
I have worked with Angelo Loria for the last year and a half on our condo homeowners’ association. At normal times that would be easy work, but our condo had a fire a short time before he became president to the HOA. In spite of the fact of the enormous work it would take to repair and fix the building, he accepted the responsibility and inspired others to get involved. During the course of the year, eight units that were damaged by fire were repaired, one of which was his unit. Both our buildings had new roofs put on them, new fire alarm systems installed, new fireplaces installed in 44 units, all of which had to be accessed multiple times — talk about having to be political. Both buildings had new insulation put in the roof. At the eastern end of our complex, we have always had drainage problems, which have gone on for years. Angelo came up with a solution that will be tested this spring when the snow melts, but early signs from the heavy rains this fall lead me to believe the problem is solved.
We have had a number of other challenges that he has faced with a smile on his face. Oh, and did I mention that when all that work was finished, we were within $5,000 of our budget? Angelo has lived in Avon with his family for the last 20 years, and he is a person seeking public office not because of what it will do for him, but because of what he can do for the Town Council. So again I say, vote for Angelo Loria for Avon Town Council.
