Vail Daily letter: ‘No’ on 5A

Too much, too soon is how I see the $10,895,000 bond. The families that use the Eagle-Vail pool would like to have a restaurant/grill as an option to bringing in a picnic lunch. The pool and restaurant have four months of use, June through September. If there is someone that can make a go of a restaurant/coffee shop (October- May), so be it and time will tell if that is a viable option. A footprint extending beyond the restaurant would still be available for a golf and community clubhouse in the future. Our existing pavilion already serves the need for community activities and meetings.

Our pocket parks are in great shape. Do we need to spend $900,000-plus for all-new equipment on all these parks at this time?

Vote “no” on 5A. Let the community go back to the drawing board. There can be a compromise at a much lower price tag.
