Vail Daily letter: Parking problems
We have been coming to the valley since the early ’80s and spend a good portion of the year here. Being avid skiers, we love the winters as much as the summers. And we spend plenty of money in this valley.
This summer may make us change our minds.
The parking garages are constantly full. Getting a space when we come to shop and eat is nearly impossible! Increased parking on the frontage roads is dangerous.
And no one seems to know why. Because it’s free in the summer, are people parking there overnight? Construction vehicles taking lots of spaces? Valet parking by the hotels?
It’s all increased tremendously since last summer.

We don’t mind paying for parking in the summer. We do so during ski season. Perhaps as a short-term solution, that’s what should happen. It’s most likely being considered by Vail Resorts.
Are there any solutions being considered? I doubt I am the only person to be frustrated.
