Vail Daily letter: Strange directions

I am so happy for all of the businesses in Vail that were able to benefit from the huge turnout for the bike race on Saturday. Every business but mine, I assume.

Guests with horseback ride reservations at Vail Stables were directed by the state troopers to go the West Vail Exit 173, then up to Vail Pass, where they could turn around at Exit 190, head back to Exit 176, where they could then access Spraddle Creek Road.

The state troopers could have easily directed those drivers to bypass the roundabout, allowing people to make an odd left turn onto Spraddle Creek Road, a mere 40 feet to the left.

Thank you, to whomever thought up this excellent plan.
