Vail Daily letter: Successful event
Another fun and festive Sonnenalp Foundation Casual Classic Bicycle Ride took place Sept. 10, and the weather, company and food couldn’t have been better! Thanks to The Sonnenalp Foundation Board and the Faessler Family for hosting the 31st annual ride that benefits the foundation’s charitable work and the completion of the Eagle Valley Trail system. Thank you to the generous staff, donors and volunteers who make the event smoothly and efficiently and made all participants feel welcome and supported on their ride from Breckenridge to Vail. The Sonnenalp Foundation has donated over $70,000 to date to the ECO Trails program of Eagle County to directly assist in the construction of the Eagle Valley Trail as a paved path to connect our communities. Thank you to the entire team that hosted and contributed to the event including the Sonnenalp Foundation Board; Johannes and Rosana Faessler; event organizer Michele Davis; Sonnenalp employees and volunteers at aid stations, check in, Bully Ranch and handling all the details; Vail Resorts Epic Promise; Luca Bruno Due; Sherri Gourley Jewelry; Golden Bear; artist Adam Stewart; musician Ron Hardy; Scott Rella Fear No Ice; ECO Transit drivers; Hoffbrau; Sysco Foods; Colorado Mountain Express; Vail Sports; Vail Bike Tech; and the Vail Daily.
Many thanks also to all the riders and folks that joined for the gourmet lunch. We hope to see everybody again next year and encourage more riders to sign up for the first time and give it a go — it’s a very fun, well supported event at a lovely time of year! Thank you.
