Vail Daily letter: Support Avon recreation
Avon voters, please join me in doing something awesome — voting “yes” to expand the Recreation Center. Have you ever thought it would be great to have a larger space for weights and more yoga classes, if only there was more space? Now is our chance to approve Ballot Issue 2A, which will build a new field house that can accommodate expansion of current uses and get a basketball court, which can be used for volleyball, indoor soccer and other sports and community uses. The town has also included money for replacing the old waterslide and Nottingham Park’s older playground. These are important improvements for our quality of life in Avon.
Will this take new taxes? Amazingly, no. It does take approval to extend existing taxes we are already paying. This is an amazing opportunity.
Ballots must be mailed in by Nov. 5 or dropped off at the county office. Let’s get this done Avon.
