Vail Daily letter: Valuable class

Grief is an often misunderstood and neglected process. Loss comes in many forms, with death of a loved one being the main loss that comes to mind when defining grief. But other losses, such as health, divorce, career, finances or growing up in a dysfunctional household can bring on grief.

Grief is a natural reaction to loss, but there is a process that helps one understand and navigate more comfortably through losses and emerge a much happier person.

I was able to move through some of my own grief through the amazing Grief Recovery Program, facilitated by Celynn McClarrinon, who has been trained in this work. The program was a way to bring completion and closure to losses, through a process that is accomplished in a loving, supportive and confidential environment. I highly recommend this class for anyone who is suffering from a loss in their lives.

McClarrinon, a Licensed Social Worker for Hospice of the Valley, will present a Grief Recovery Program on Mondays from 6-8 pm, beginning Jan. 6 at the Edwards Interfaith Chapel. The action program assists people to move beyond death, divorce and other losses. For more information, contact Celynn at 970-569-7455.
