Letter: Together, we will be heard

A few weeks ago, many of you gathered at the Edwards roundabout to stand up for the issues that matter most — your financial (and social) security, the right to vote while married, support for our veterans and neighbors, strong public schools and protected public lands, clean air and water, and continued research into diseases affecting our loved ones. Most importantly, you stood up for the freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all.

You stood alongside 5.3 million other Americans who refuse to accept chaos and the destruction of our country for the benefit of the few at the expense of the many. But our work is far from done.

To create real change, our collective action must not only continue — it must grow. History tells us that when just 3.5% of a population engages in sustained, nonviolent protest, transformational change becomes possible.

That’s why we’re asking you to join us again — and to bring a friend or two.

The next National Day of Action is set for Saturday, April 19, at the Edwards Roundabout from noon–2 p.m.
