Letter: Vote McBride for Vail Town Council
I am in my mid-30s, and I have lived at Middle Creek in Vail since I moved here in 2014.
I have been fortunate to grow a community with many others in the Vail Valley who share the same passion for the mountains and desire to see Vail continue to have a vibrant future.
Scott McBride and his family were some of those who I had the pleasure of crossing paths with back in 2019 at Beaver Creek. Through my employment, we were able to quickly develop rapport and common ground over our mutual love for skiing and all things mountain-related. Since our first conversation, it is clear that Scott deeply cares about our community and wants to protect it for future generations. One of the biggest hurdles to seeing that come to fruition is the need for affordable housing that is practical and minimizes impacts on our surrounding ecosystem.
Scott McBride understands this, and his approach to the housing issues in Vail is one of the many reasons why I feel he is the right choice to represent the community on the Vail Town Council. Dedicating resources to responsibly build in parts of West Vail, West Middle Creek and Dowd Junction will allow Vail to recruit and retain employees at all levels of operations, minimize travel needs and minimize impacts on the beautiful natural resources surrounding Vail, which Vail depends on to thrive.
I am confident that Scott will make every effort to accomplish these goals in a fiscally responsible manner. He stated, in his response to the Vail Daily Q&A, that “every effort should be made to meet current priorities without raising taxes.”
