Letter: What chutzpah!
The recent letter to the editor on Aug. 25 signed by many former Vail Town Council members was appalling to me. Some of the people signing that letter are the very ones who, when on the Town Council, voted in favor of matters (such as the rezoning of Booth Heights) that have led to the predicament that the current Town Council is seeking to manage in a way that reflects voter sentiment. The letter writers’ call for fiscal responsibility is misdirected. Instead, the letter writers should be at the offices of Vail Resorts exhorting the company to cease trying to take money from Vail residents in the Booth Heights condemnation proceedings and to do the right thing and donate the land in perpetuity to open space.
