Vail Daily letter: Christie for Vail council

I am pleased to endorse Mark Christie for the Vail Town Council. As a lifetime Vail resident and former member of the Vail Town Council, I care deeply about our community and know what it takes to make Vail the unique town we all love. I spent over three decades as a home builder in Vail, sat on our water boards for 20 years, and sat on the organizing committee for the ‘89 World Alpine Ski Championships.

With my long-term commitment to making Vail the best it can be, I want our Town Council to reflect a love for our town and the leadership skills to keep it great. Mark Christie has both. He is the man for this job; he has what it takes. I have spent almost eight years working with Mark at the Vail Information Centers. Time and time again I watched Mark exhibit compassion for our guests and in-depth understanding of our businesses and our community. Mark is a leader among Info Center staff and is often able to help find practical solutions when problems arise. Mark will lead Vail in the right direction because he cares deeply about our town and the people who call Vail home. Mark also understands the needs of our guests.

Mark’s business skills, experience and leadership skills qualify him for this job. When you vote for Mark Christie, you know that you are electing an individual that not only can do the job but will never forget the residents and guests of Vail as well as those who work in our valley. My vote for Mark will be a vote for a positive future for Vail because he knows how to get things done. Mark will work hard to make the town of Vail, Eagle County and Vail Mountain a better place. He will face our needs and problems head on and stop putting our biggest needs of housing and parking on the back burner. No special interests with Mark, just a desire to continue to make our community the best it can be for everyone. He listens, has the management skills, works hard, is focused on solutions and brings real business skills to the job. Let’s get together and make Mark Christie a member of the Vail Town Council on Nov. 3. Thank you for taking the time to read this endorsement for Mark.
