Vail Daily letter: Great event
September 25, 2013
As the last several days of the Vail Living Well Summit filter through our minds and hearts, John and I want to thank every person and every company who support Vail Living Well and its vision and mission to activate health and well-being. We observed as connections were made between researchers/presenters who will be collaborating on future research projects in health and well-being, we watched as Joe Montana threw/passed autographed footballs to three very deserving Battle Mountain football team members, and heard from a very knowledgeable and health conscious friend who was calling from the supermarket, to tell us she had gotten rid of foods she thought were healthy, and was now shopping for what she just learned from a researcher are truly healthy foods.
Our scholarship recipients, from bright, motivated and dedicated local Conor Wallace, who will be taking back all he learned and experienced at the summit to teammates and students, to Tyrone Beverly, the founder of Im'Unique, a Denver nonprofit dedicated to uniting community and fostering healthy lifestyles within those communities, all added great value to the entire summit with their passion, commitment and drive.
To our partners, Johannes Faessler, Patricia McNamara, Sarah Brent, Kelly Paton, and the entire team at the Sonnenalp Hotel — we are honored to be working with all of you. Kaylee Brennand, your passion, support and grace at all times is amazing. Ann Darby and Kathy Langenwalter and our incredibly generous volunteers — couldn't do it without you! You were the welcoming faces of Vail Living Well.
Our local sponsors and supporters, Margaret Rogers and Jenn Bruno from the Town Council and the CSE, the Vail Local Marketing District, Jens and Ariadyn from Peeples Ink, Jill Anderson of Anderson Marketing, the town of Vail, Chris Jarnot and Kristin Kenney Williams and Vail Resorts, Steve Virostek and Triumph, Harry Frampton and Slifer, Smith and Frampton, the Vail Daily, Coen Wijdicks and Steadman Philippon Research Research Institute and the Steadman Clinic, Kristen Busse and the Golden Bear (Natalie Morales put her Mama Bear on as soon as she received her gift!), the Sebastian Hotel, the Four Seasons, the Antlers, Vail Mountain Lodge and the Lodge at Vail, SKEA, Opedix, Elway's, La Tour, Sweet Basil, Terra Bistro, Avid Design, Desert Harvest and the Vitality Center, we thank you for your support and sharing the vision for what this can do for Vail, our state and beyond.
