Vail Daily letter: Inaugural success

On behalf of Catholic Charities, Western Slope I want to take the time to thank everyone who helped make our inaugural Designs for Hope fundraiser a success.

First of all, the talented artists, who turned ordinary pieces of furniture into amazing works of art: Edward Alpi, Nedra Bonta, L. Dean Bowlby, Karen Christner, Kelly Cox, Linda Drake, Debra Echtler, Portia Greifenberg, Annibet Griffin, Sandy Grosjean, Berard Hofmann, Cynthia McNeil, Ellie Reichstein, John Sedlmayer, Bobbie Van Meter, Lisa Willingham, Caitlyn Willingham and Jennifer Winstead.

Thank you to Mark Whittington, who worked tirelessly to sand and prime each piece of furniture, providing the artists with a blank canvas. Thank you to Nicole Grosjean for designing our logo and poster and Copy Copy for the printing. A special thank you to Glen Jammaron and Alpine Bank for their sponsorship and hosting pieces at each bank location. Thank you to A La Carte, the Kuttin Korner, Mountain Cupcakes, and Rocky Mountain Silver and Beads for displaying pieces in their shops. Thank you to Lynne Jammaron for her guidance and expertise as we ventured on this initial journey.

And most of all, thank you to all the individuals who purchased a piece of furniture supporting our event and our service to those in need in our community. We look forward to our second annual Designs for Hope in 2014!
