Vail Daily letter: Next chapter of Cordillera

I recently began my new role as general manager of the Cordillera community — not a small job, but one that I am already relishing.

I’m most excited to continue the upward momentum of Cordillera and promote the many amenities of this community to friends, neighbors and visitors.

Cordillera is a community that is thriving. Though I’m new to this position, I have long had a passion for the Cordillera community and am honored to help advance the vision of this exceptional area.

As the economy continues to improve, I’m pleased to share that economic indicators for Cordillera are improving as well. Property sales are on the rise: there were five properties sold in February with eight properties going under contract in the same month. Property values continue to show healthy growth and we’re seeing more new homes being built. Seven houses were built in 2013 and 2014 combined; there are 12 homes scheduled to be built thus far in 2015.

As a community, we have so much to celebrate and promote. For instance, few communities can boast a state-of-the-art athletic center, an equestrian center, the summer Cordy Camp for kids, hiking and biking trails and an unparalleled nine-hole Par 3 course for working on the short game. In addition to these recreational opportunities, we’re lucky to have three of the most exquisite golf courses in Colorado designed by Tom Fazio, Hale Irwin and Jack Nicklaus and managed by Troon Golf and Troon Prive.

Best of all, many of these amenities are open to you, the Vail Valley community. I invite you and your family to enjoy our summer activities. Bring your kids to Cordy Camp to make new friends. Come see what we have to offer, such as classic Irish fare at the Grouse on the Green, which is perfect after a game on the Short Course. Enjoy a dinner at TimberHearth.

My main goals, as the new General Manager of Cordillera include: becoming a vocal and involved part of the community; supporting the outstanding employees at Cordillera; and serving as a champion for the Cordillera community and partners by extolling the many magnificent aspects of this community.

I look forward to meeting you as part of the Vail Valley community and am excited to share this next chapter of Cordillera with you.
