Vail Daily letter: Successful event
February 25, 2016
We had an excellent time at the Free Family Fun Fair earlier this month. It wouldn't have been possible without our amazing sponsors! First and foremost we want to give a shout-out to our community partners at Western Eagle County Metropolitan District, town of Eagle, town of Gypsum, Vail Valley Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, Mountain Family Health Centers, Renewal by Andersen, Eagle Chamber of Commerce, Alpine Bank, Taco Bell and Whitewater Express Car Wash!
Thank you all for your continued support and participation. We couldn't host this amazing free family event without you!
We'd also like to give a special thanks to our volunteers from our local Colorado 4-H Program! They helped keep the kids safe and the lines orderly all day!
If you were one of the fair-goers who enjoyed this free event, we thank you for attending and strongly encourage you to go out and support our sponsors. In all honesty, the annual Free Family Fun Fair would not exist without them!
The day started strong with a gymnastics demonstration from the WECMRD youth gymnastics team and as always the big toys, including a bounce house, a four-person bungee jump, the giant slide, an inflatable obstacle course and the crowd-pleasing zorb balls were a joy for all of the kids and were available all day for free thanks to our sponsors!
Safety education is an integral part of every annual Free Family Fun Fair. This year the Eagle River Fire Protection District joined us with a shiny red fire truck and welcomed the children to climb on in and explore. The Eagle County Paramedic Services brought an ambulance and gave your kids the opportunity to see just how they keep us safe in times of need. Kim Greene, with Vail Valley Medical Center, provided free helmet fittings and tot-sized helmets (for a cash donation). Kim also led a helmet safety demonstration that was a smash (literally — that cantaloupe was wishing it had a helmet)!
