Vail Daily letter: Warnick for CMC board

On the Nov. 3 ballot, voters will be given an opportunity to elect four at-large representatives to the Colorado Mountain College Board of Trustees. All of the candidates for this important four-year position — which sets college goals, approves and manages its budget, and hires/evaluates the president — are running unopposed, with the exception of Jon Warnick, a resident of CMC District 2 (East Garfield County).

I wholeheartedly endorse Jon Warnick for the CMC Board of Trustees. I was honored to work with Jon for seven years during his tenure on the CMC Foundation Board, on which he also served as chairman and treasurer. Jon’s dedication to education, thoughtful leadership, and passion for CMC contributed to seminal developments at the college, including the Isaacson School for New Media, new scholarship programs (Jon’s family sponsors an annual CMC scholarship), and the four-year bachelor’s degree program.

Jon brings excellent credentials to the Board of Trustee position. He is a retired executive from IBM with 30 years of business experience. His work background and community involvement strongly complement CMC’s focus on affordability and educational excellence.

I hope you will join me in voting for Jon Warnick for CMC Trustee. You can be assured he will approach this position with integrity, commitment and determination.

Don’t forget to vote on Nov. 3!
