Vail Daily letter: Safety measures needed near Avon park

Joe Shankland’s concerns about the parking on West Beaver Creek Boulevard at Nottingham Park were exactly my thoughts this week as we took our grandchildren to the beach (Letter to the editor: “Add more parking? Reduce speed limit?” Friday, July 21.

It’s a disastrously dangerous and preposterous arrangement. There are no safety measures whatsoever. Ironically, just down the road, the 20 mph school zone sign is flashing away, despite the fact that school is not in session and no children are running across the road here. The city must come up with a better plan for parking at Nottingham Lake — or at least some serious safety measures.
