John Tyler named branch broker of Slifer Smith & Frampton Vail Bridge Street office

John Tyler

John Tyler has been named the new branch broker for Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate’s Bridge Street office location. His focus will be to lead the top-tier team of brokers, specializing in luxury real estate sales throughout the Vail Valley with guidance and advice.

Tyler is a natural fit for the leadership role after an 18-year real estate career with Slifer Smith & Frampton. His mother, Carroll Tyler, has been with the company since 1981 and is still an active broker at 85. “They call us Slifer lifers,” said Tyler, who grew up in the area and graduated from the Vail Mountain School in 1984. “One of the real strengths of this company is we are much more of a family organization and that’s hard to find, especially when you consider the kind of volume our company does. It’s a level of volume that rivals most big companies in the country.”

Tyler began his professional life in Osaka, Japan, teaching corporate executives and CEOS of many well-known companies English. After working with a large Japanese firm in the international logistics and customs brokerage arena for five years in the San Francisco area, Tyler and his wife, Danie, relocated to Denver where he started a new business in 1995 representing a British firm leading the world in the field of polymeric repair products and techniques. Over the next eight years, Tyler sold and directed projects in most of the power plants in Colorado, numerous dams, wastewater plants, air force bases, office buildings and manufacturing companies.

With two young children, and a love of the mountains, Tyler returned to Vail to join Slifer Smith & Frampton in 2004 as an assistant to broker Rick Pirog. Today, Tyler, his mother, Carroll, Pirog and their licensed assistant Lindsay Bruce have formed a team to sell luxury real estate in the Vail Valley and beyond.
