Realty firm honored by Gypsum Chamber
GYPSUM — In December, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Colorado Properties received the Gypsum Chamber of Commerce Large Business of the Year Award for 2015.
This is the first year the company’s Gypsum office has received this recognition. A small business of the year award is also given out by the chamber for businesses with fewer than 25 employees.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Colorado Properties President Michael Slevin said the award acknowledges how brokers help people buy and sell homes, as well as the team’s contributions to the town.
“From volunteering to sponsoring events and connecting other businesses and services, our team of brokers is truly invested in Gypsum and what makes the town so special,” Slevin said.
Laurie Slaughter is the managing broker for the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Colorado Properties Gypsum office, and also serves on the board of the Gypsum Chamber of Commerce. Slaughter said the Chamber’s mission is to promote businesses and services in Gypsum and its surrounding areas.
“They look for innovative products or services, customer service, economic support and the business community, (and more),” Slaughter said.
Slevin said he believes a strong community creates connection through business, philanthropy and collaboration.
“We live and work in a wonderful and unique area, and it’s important to be active and contributing members,” Slevin said. “Thank you to the Chamber, its members and the town of Gypsum for the recognition. We are honored to receive the award and hope to contribute back even more in 2016.”
